They're just amazing <3 They're Czechoslovakian Wolf Dog's, right? Thanks to your photos I've only found out about them now and just did a quick research on them.
I have a question though, are they a rare dog breed?
I'm very curious to know if they're hard to get a hold of and own, I live in Australia you see.
I'm not sure where I'll be living when I move out of home and travel [possibly overseas and somewhere colder than Australia], but that's probably a long way off.
I currently own a Siberian Husky, and have owned German Shepherds/ grown up with them. I have no problem with big dogs and I'm getting better at training them and being the 'Alpha Dog' each day, so I'm sure I'll be fit enough to own one of these magnificent dogs some day.
Sorry for the huge message
I'm just very serious about one day owning a Czechoslovakian Wolf Dog, so any information you have for me, if you don't mind answering my questions, will be very helpful
As far as I know, there are no breeding dogs in Australia, and there is also problem in importing them, because the mandatory qarantine is several months. And exactly those early months are essential in wolfdog's life, he cannot spend them in a cage. You could probably import a grown-up, already socialized. As for the weather, they adapt to all kinds of climate extremely well. Izrael, Spain, Russia, Finland, Mexico, Canada...
Vlcaks are a rare breed, most of them can be found in Czech Republic, Italy, Slovakia, Germany and Poland.
I think owning a Husky is a good preparation for a wolfdog.
If you want to, you can send me an email with your questions;] (my-nick at gmail.com)
If I have any other questions along the line I'll be sure to email you, thanks
It's also very good to know they are great at adapting to any climate -phew- and that a husky is a good step in preparation before a wolfdog - those things had me worried the most I suppose.
Who knows, maybe one day I'll be the first Australian breeder of these beautiful dogs ;]
Thanks again
I hope you will keep your interest in these dogs, I think it would be great to have a Vlcak population in Australia as well:]
